كِتَاب الصَّوْمِ
The Book of As-Saum (The Fasting).
بَابُ مَنْ صَامَ رَمَضَانَ إِيمَانًا وَاحْتِسَابًا وَنِيَّةً:
(6) Chapter. Whoever observed fast in Ramadan out of sincere faith (that it is an enjoined duty), and hoping for a reward from Allah and with honest intention (i.e., only for Allah’s sake).

وقالت عائشة رضي الله عنها: عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يبعثون على نياتهم.

حدثنا مسلم بن إبراهيم، حدثنا هشام، حدثنا يحيى، عن ابي سلمة، عن ابي هريرة رضي الله عنه، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال:" من قام ليلة القدر إيمانا واحتسابا، غفر له ما تقدم من ذنبه، ومن صام رمضان إيمانا واحتسابا، غفر له ما تقدم من ذنبه".
Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "Whoever established prayers on the night of Qadr out of sincere faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven; and whoever fasts in the month of Ramadan out of sincere faith, and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven."
