Chapter: The Description of Waving the Flag in Battle
Hadith Number: 1679
It is narrated from Jabir, may Allah be pleased with him, that when the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, entered Makkah, his banner was white. Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- This hadith is gharib; we know it only from the narration of Yahya bin Adam, and Yahya narrates from Shareek,
2- I asked Muhammad bin Ismail Bukhari about this hadith: he said: Yahya bin Adam narrates from Shareek, and he said: Several people have narrated to us with the chain of «شريك عن عمار عن أبي الزبير عن جابر» that when the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, entered Makkah, he had a black turban on his head. Muhammad bin Ismail Bukhari says: And (the preserved) hadith is this,
3- «الدهن» is a branch of the Bajilah tribe. Ammar Dahni is the son of Muawiyah Dahni. His kunyah is Abu Muawiyah. He was a resident of Kufa and is considered trustworthy by the hadith scholars.
