بَابُ فَضْلِ لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ:
Chapter. The superiority of the night of Qadr.
Hadith Number: Q2014
وقول الله تعالى: إنا انزلناه في ليلة القدر {1} وما ادراك ما ليلة القدر {2} ليلة القدر خير من الف شهر {3} تنزل الملائكة والروح فيها بإذن ربهم من كل امر {4} سلام هي حتى مطلع الفجر {5} سورة القدر آية 1-5، قال ابن عيينة: ما كان في القرآن ما ادراك فقد اعلمه، وما قال: وما يدريك فإنه لم يعلمه.
And (in Surah Al-Qadr) Allah the Exalted’s statement:“Indeed, We sent it (the Noble Qur’an) down in the Night of Decree. And what will make you know what the Night of Decree is? The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months. The angels and the Spirit (Gabriel, peace be upon him) descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter. Peace it is until the emergence of dawn.”Sufyan bin ‘Uyaynah said: In the Qur’an, wherever «ما أدراك» occurs, Allah the Exalted informed the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about it, and wherever «ما يدريك» is mentioned, He did not inform him about it.

Hadith Number: 2014
حدثنا علي بن عبد الله، حدثنا سفيان، قال: حفظناه وإنما حفظ من الزهري، عن ابي سلمة، عن ابي هريرة رضي الله عنه، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال:" من صام رمضان إيمانا واحتسابا غفر له ما تقدم من ذنبه، ومن قام ليلة القدر إيمانا واحتسابا غفر له ما تقدم من ذنبه"، تابعه سليمان بن كثير، عن الزهري.
Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "Whoever fasted the month of Ramadan out of sincere Faith (i.e. belief) and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his past sins will be forgiven, and whoever stood for the prayers in the night of Qadr out of sincere Faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven ."
