Chapters On Inheritance
باب مَا جَاءَ مَنْ تَرَكَ مَالاً فَلِوَرَثَتِهِ
Chapter: The heirs of the deceased are entitled to the inheritance.
Hadith Number: 2090
حدثنا سعيد بن يحيى بن سعيد الاموي، حدثنا ابي، حدثنا محمد بن عمرو، حدثنا ابو سلمة، عن ابي هريرة، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " من ترك مالا فلاهله، ومن ترك ضياعا فإلي "، قال ابو عيسى: هذا حديث حسن صحيح، وفي الباب عن جابر وانس، وقد رواه الزهري، عن ابي سلمة، عن ابي هريرة، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم اطول من هذا واتم معنى ضياعا ضائعا ليس له شيء، فانا اعوله وانفق عليه.
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever leaves behind wealth (after death), it is for his heirs, and whoever leaves behind children who have nothing, then their care is my responsibility." Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- This hadith is Hasan Sahih,
2- Zuhri has narrated this hadith with the chain of «عن أبي سلمة عن أبي هريرة عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم» and that hadith is longer and more complete than this,
3- In this chapter, there are also ahadith from Jabir and Anas (may Allah be pleased with them both),
4- The meaning of «ضياعا» is that such children who have nothing, I will take care of them and spend on them. 1.
