Prohibited acts while in Ihram
Hadith Number: 315
219- وبه: ان رجلا سال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: ما يلبس المحرم من الثياب؟ فقال صلى الله عليه وسلم: ”لا تلبسوا القمص ولا العمائم ولا السراويلات ولا البرانس ولا الاخفاف، إلا احدا لا يجد نعلين فليلبس خفين وليقطعهما اسفل من الكعبين، ولا تلبسوا من الثياب شيئا مسه الزعفران ولا الورس.“
And with this same chain (it is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him: What clothes should a person in ihram wear? The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Do not wear shirts, nor turbans, nor trousers, nor caps (or headscarves), nor closed shoes (socks), except that if someone does not have open shoes, then he may wear socks (boots) and cut them below the ankles. Do not wear any garment among the clothes that has saffron or wars (a fragrant herb) applied to it."

Hadith Number: 316
284- وبه: انه قال: نهى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ان يلبس المحرم ثوبا مصبوغا بزعفران او ورس وقال: ”من لم يجد نعلين فليلبس خفين، وليقطعهما اسفل من الكعبين.“
And with this same chain of narration, it is reported from (Sayyiduna Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade the person in ihram from wearing such cloth that has been dyed with saffron or (fragrant herb) wars. And the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever does not have open sandals (slippers), then he should wear socks (and boots) and cut them below the ankles."
