The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The one who goes door to door, making rounds among people, and who returns with a morsel or two, or a date or two, is not a true needy person. Rather, the real needy person is the one who does not possess enough wealth to fulfill his needs, feels ashamed to ask people, and whose poverty is not apparent so that charity may be given to him."
