Shamail al-Tirmidhi
بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي صِفَةِ خُبْزِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
Chapter: What has been reported concerning the bread of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)
The Prophet spent many nights hungry
Hadith Number: 144
حدثنا عبد الله بن معاوية الجمحي قال: حدثنا ثابت بن زيد، عن هلال بن خباب، عن عكرمة، عن ابن عباس قال: «كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يبيت الليالي المتتابعة طاويا هو واهله لا يجدون عشاء وكان اكثر خبزهم خبز الشعير»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), he says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) himself and his family would often spend several consecutive nights hungry, with no food for the night, and most of their bread was made of barley.
