Silent or loud recitation in night prayer?
Hadith Number: 316
حدثنا قتيبة قال: حدثنا الليث، عن معاوية بن صالح، عن عبد الله بن ابي قيس قال: سالت عائشة، عن قراءة النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم اكان يسر بالقراءة ام يجهر؟ قالت: «كل ذلك قد كان يفعل قد كان ربما اسر وربما جهر» . فقلت: الحمد لله الذي جعل في الامر سعة
Abdullah bin Abi Qais reports: I asked Umm al-Mu’minin Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) about the recitation of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): Did he recite (in the night prayer) quietly or aloud? She replied: He would recite in both ways. Sometimes he would recite in a low voice and sometimes he would recite aloud. I said: All praise is due to Allah, Who has granted great breadth and ease in matters of religion.
