It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Prayer consists of three parts: one third is purification, one third is bowing (ruku‘), and one third is prostration (sujood). Whoever performs it as it should be performed, his prayer will be accepted and the rest of his deeds will also be accepted. And whoever's prayer is rejected, the rest of his deeds will also be rejected."
