Difference between poetry and prose

-" الشعر بمنزلة الكلام حسنه كحسن الكلام وقبيحه كقبيح الكلام".
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Poetry is like ordinary (prose) speech, that is, good poetry is like good speech and bad poetry is like bad speech."
