Sayyiduna Abu Umamah Bahili (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "Recite the Qur'an, for indeed it will come as an intercessor for its reciters on the Day of Resurrection. Recite the two beautiful surahs: Al-Baqarah and Aal-e-Imran, for they will come on the Day of Resurrection as if they are two clouds, or two shades, or two flocks of birds with outstretched wings, pleading for those who recited them. Recite Surah Al-Baqarah, for taking it is a blessing and abandoning it is a cause of regret, and the false ones cannot overcome it."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:“The Qur’an will intercede and its intercession will be accepted. It will argue (on behalf of its reciters) and its argument will be confirmed. Whoever puts it before himself, it will lead him to Paradise, and whoever puts it behind his back, it will drive him into Hell.”
