Bilal bin Yahya says: When Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) was martyred, Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) saw a dream. It was said to him: O Abu Abdullah! Uthman has been martyred and the people have fallen into discord; in such a situation, what will you say? He said: Support me. They supported him with the chest of a man. He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Abu al-Yaqzan is upon the natural disposition (Islam) and he will not leave it until he dies or becomes extremely old."

A companion of the Messenger narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "‘Ammar has been filled with faith up to his collar bones."

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Follow Abu Bakr and Umar after me, adopt the way of Ammar, and hold fast to the covenant of Ibn Mas'ud." This hadith has been narrated from Abdullah bin Mas'ud, Sayyiduna Hudhayfah bin al-Yaman, Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them).

Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whenever Ammar was given the choice between two matters, he chose the one that was most rightly guided."
