‘Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) says that Umm al-Mu’minin Safiyyah bint Huyayy (may Allah be pleased with her) experienced menstruation after performing the Tawaf al-Ifadah. So I mentioned this to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Will she (Umm al-Mu’minin Safiyyah, may Allah be pleased with her) detain us in Makkah?”Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said:“O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! She has already performed the Tawaf al-Ifadah, and then menstruated afterwards.”So the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Then she may return (with us).”

`Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says that people were commanded to depart last from near the House of Allah (i.e., after performing Tawaf), and there was a concession for menstruating women (i.e., regarding the Farewell Tawaf).
