`Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade meeting riders (who bring goods) ahead (of their arrival in the market) and forbade a townsman from selling the goods of a villager. Tawus says: I asked Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), "What is meant by a townsman selling for a villager?" He said: The townsman should not act as a broker for the one coming from outside (rather, he should let him sell it himself).
