Sayyiduna Mujashi‘ bin Mas‘ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I brought my brother Abu Ma‘id to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) after the conquest (of Makkah), and I said,“O Messenger of Allah! Take his pledge for migration.”The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said,“Migration has already been completed along with the emigrants.”I said,“Then on what will you take his pledge, O Messenger of Allah?”The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said,“On Islam, jihad, and goodness.”Abu ‘Uthman said: I met Abu Ma‘id and mentioned to him what Mujashi‘ had said, so he said,“Mujashi‘ has spoken the truth.”
