Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: "Musa (peace be upon him) was extremely modest and would cover his body, and due to his modesty, no part of his body could be seen. Some individuals from Bani Israel caused him harm and said: The reason he covers his body to such an extent is only because there is some defect in his body, or he has leprosy, or his private parts are enlarged, or he has some other illness. So, he began to bathe and placed his clothes on a stone, then the stone ran away with his clothes. He (Musa, peace be upon him) also ran after it. The Bani Israel saw him (naked) and found him to be the best of men. Thus, Allah made his innocence clear from the accusation. That is why Allah the Exalted said: O you who believe! Do not be like those who caused harm to Musa (peace be upon him), and Allah declared him innocent of what they alleged."
