كِتَاب تَفْسِيرِ الْقُرْآنِ
The Book of Commentary
بَابُ قَوْلِهِ: {وَأَنْفِقُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَلاَ تُلْقُوا بِأَيْدِيكُمْ إِلَى التَّهْلُكَةِ وَأَحْسِنُوا إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُحْسِنِينَ}:
(31) Chapter. Allah’s Statement:“And spend in the Cause of Allah (i.e., Jihad of all kinds), and do not throw yourselves into destruction (by not spending your wealth in the Cause of Allah), and do good. Truly, Allah loves Al-Muhsinun (the good-doers).”(V.2:195)

حدثنا إسحاق , اخبرنا النضر , حدثنا شعبة , عن سليمان , قال: سمعت ابا وائل , عن حذيفة , وانفقوا في سبيل الله ولا تلقوا بايديكم إلى التهلكة سورة البقرة آية 195 , قال:" نزلت في النفقة".
Narrated Abu Wail: Hudhaifa said, "The Verse:-- "And spend (of your wealth) in the Cause of Allah and do not throw yourselves in destruction," (2.195) was revealed concerning spending in Allah's Cause (i.e. Jihad).
