Book of Greeting (Salam)
بَابُ يُسَلِّمُ الْقَلِيلُ عَلَى الْكَثِيرِ
Chapter: Few greet the many
Hadith Number: 998
حدثنا عبد الله بن يزيد، قال: حدثنا حيوة قال: اخبرني حميد ابو هانئ، ان ابا علي الجنبي حدثه، عن فضالة بن عبيد، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: ”يسلم الراكب على الماشي، والماشي على القاعد، والقليل على الكثير.“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Fadala bin Ubaid (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The rider should greet the one who is walking, the one who is walking should greet the one who is sitting, and a smaller group should greet a larger group."

Hadith Number: 999
اخبرنا عبد الله، قال: اخبرنا حيوة بن شريح قال: اخبرني ابو هانئ الخولاني، عن ابي علي الجنبي، عن فضالة، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: ”يسلم الفارس على الماشي، والماشي على القائم، والقليل على الكثير.“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Fadala (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The rider should greet the one who is walking, and the one who is walking should greet the one who is standing, and the smaller group should greet the larger group."
