Chapter: What to say when waking at night
Hadith Number: 1218
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Rabi’ah bin Ka’b (may Allah be pleased with him) that I used to spend the night at the door of the house of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) so that I could provide him with water, etc., for ablution. I would hear the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying“Sami’ Allahu liman hamidah”late into the night, and I would hear him reciting“Alhamdu lillahi Rabbil ‘alamin”for a long time.
