Abu Thamamah Hinnat said: Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Ujrah (may Allah be pleased with him) found me on the pavement (while going to the mosque) and I had interlaced my fingers. He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When any of you performs ablution and sets out for the mosque with the intention of prayer, he should not interlace his fingers (as if he is already in prayer)."

Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Ujrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When you perform ablution and intend to go to the mosque, do not interlace your fingers, for you are in a state of prayer."

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: When a person performs ablution at home and then goes out for prayer, he is considered to be in prayer until he returns to his house. So do not do this, that is, do not interlace the fingers, do not crack the fingers.
