Chapter: Prohibition of Begging
Hadith Number: 1688
Sayyiduna Hakim bin Hizam (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I asked the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for something, and he gave it to me. I asked again, and he gave it to me again. I asked once more, and he still gave it to me. After that, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Hakim! This wealth is indeed lush and sweet, but whoever takes it with a generous heart, there will be blessing in his wealth. And whoever takes it with greed, there will be no blessing in his wealth at all. Its example is like a person who eats but his stomach is not filled."
