From the Book of Fasting
باب مَنْ دُعِيَ إِلَى الطَّعَامِ وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ فَلْيَقُلْ إِنِّي صَائِمٌ:
Chapter: If Invited to Food While Fasting, Say: I Am Fasting
Hadith Number: 1775
اخبرنا حجاج بن منهال، حدثنا سفيان بن عيينة، عن ابي الزناد، عن الاعرج، عن ابي هريرة، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: "إذا دعي احدكم إلى طعام وهو صائم، فليقل: إني صائم".
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a person is invited to a meal and he is fasting, he should say, 'I am fasting.'"
