From the Book of Fasting
باب النَّهْيِ عَنِ الصِّيَامِ يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ وَيَوْمَ النَّحْرِ:
Chapter: Prohibition of Fasting on Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha
Hadith Number: 1791
حدثنا سعيد بن عامر، عن شعبة، عن عبد الملك بن عمير، عن قزعة مولى زياد، عن ابي سعيد الخدري، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: "لا صوم يومين: يوم الفطر ويوم النحر".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is not permissible to fast on two days: the day of Eid al-Fitr and the day of Eid al-Adha."
