Umm al-Mu’minin Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me:“If your people were not so close to the time of disbelief, I would have demolished the Ka’bah and rebuilt it upon the foundations of Ibrahim (peace be upon him). When the Quraysh constructed it, due to lack of resources, they made it smaller. I would rebuild it and make another door at the back.”

Sayyida Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): Is the Hatim also included in the House of Allah? He said: "Yes." I said: Then why did people not include it in the Ka'bah? He said: "Your people ran short of construction materials." I said: Then why was the door kept so high? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Your people did this so that they could allow in whomever they wished and prevent whomever they wished. If your people had not been so close to the time of ignorance, I would have included the Hatim in the Ka'bah and lowered the door to the ground. I fear that their hearts would not accept this (change)."
