باب في الْفَرَعِ وَالْعَتِيرَةِ:
Chapter: On Fara’ and Atirah Sacrifices
Hadith Number: 2003
اخبرنا محمد بن عيسى، حدثنا ابن عيينة، عن الزهري، عن سعيد بن المسيب، عن ابي هريرة، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: "لا فرع ولا عتيرة".
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no Fara’ and no ‘Atirah (in Islam)."

Hadith Number: 2004
حدثنا محمد بن عيسى، حدثنا ابو عوانة، عن يعلى بن عطاء، عن وكيع بن حدس، عن ابي رزين العقيلي: لقيط بن عامر، قال: قلت: يا رسول الله، إنا كنا نذبح في رجب فما ترى؟ قال:"لا باس بذلك". قال وكيع: لا ادعه ابدا.
Sayyiduna Abu Razin Laqit bin Amir Aqili رضي الله عنه said: I asked the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم: O Messenger of Allah! In the days of ignorance, we used to offer sacrifice in the month of Rajab. What is your opinion about this? He said: "There is no harm in slaughtering." (That is, when it is done for Allah, there is no objection to offering sacrifice in any month «كما فى النسائي وغيره» ). Imam Waki’ رحمه الله said: I never abandon this practice.
