Abu’l-‘Ashra’ (Usamah bin Malik) narrated from his father that he said: I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him): O Messenger of Allah! Is it necessary to slaughter (the animal) only between the throat and the collarbone? He said:“If you pierce its thigh, that is also sufficient for you.”Hammad bin Salamah said: We interpret this regarding an animal that has fallen into a well.
