باب لَيْسَ في الْخَمْرِ شِفَاءٌ:
Chapter: No Cure in Alcohol
Hadith Number: 2132
اخبرنا سهل بن حماد، حدثنا شعبة، حدثنا سماك، قال: سمعت علقمة بن وائل يحدث، عن ابيه وائل، ان سويد بن طارق سال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عن الخمر، فنهاه عنها ان يصنعها، فقال: إنها دواء، فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:"إنها ليست دواء ولكنها داء".
It is narrated from Wa'il that Sayyiduna Suwaid bin Tariq (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about making wine. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade him from making wine. Sayyiduna Suwaid (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "It is a medicine." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "It is not a medicine, rather it is a disease."
