باب في الأَمَةِ يُجْعَلُ عِتْقُهَا صَدَاقَهَا:
Chapter: Making a Slave Woman’s Emancipation Her Dowry
Hadith Number: 2279
حدثنا مسدد، حدثنا حماد بن زيد، عن شعيب بن الحبحاب، عن انس:"ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم اعتق صفية وجعل عتقها صداقها".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) freed Lady Safiyyah bint Huyayy (may Allah be pleased with her) and made her freedom itself her dowry.

اخبرنا ابو النعمان، حدثنا ابو عوانة، عن قتادة، عن انس:"ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم اعتق صفية وتزوجها وجعل عتقها صداقها".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) first freed Umm al-Mu'mineen Sayyidah Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her), then married her, and her freedom itself was considered her dowry.
