From the Book of Expeditions
باب أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَقَامَ بِالْعَرْصَةِ ثَلاَثاً:
Chapter: The Prophet Stayed at the Open Ground for Three Days
Hadith Number: 2495
اخبرنا المعلى بن اسد، حدثنا معاذ بن معاذ، حدثنا سعيد بن ابي عروبة، عن قتادة، عن انس، عن ابي طلحة: ان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم كان"إذا ظهر على قوم احب ان يقيم بعرصتهم ثلاثا".
Sayyiduna Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gained dominance over a people, he liked to stay in their land for three days.
