باب في أَنْ يُنَفَّلَ في الْبَدْأَةِ الرُّبُعُ وَفِي الرَّجْعَةِ الثُّلُثُ:
Chapter: Granting a Quarter at the Start and a Third on Return
Hadith Number: 2518
اخبرنا محمد بن عيينة، حدثنا ابو إسحاق الفزاري، عن عبد الرحمن بن عياش، عن سليمان بن موسى، عن ابي سلام، عن ابي امامة الباهلي، عن عبادة بن الصامت، قال: كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم"إذا اغار في ارض العدو، نفل الربع، وإذا اقبل راجعا، وكل الناس، نفل الثلث".
Sayyiduna Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) said that when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) attacked the enemy’s land, he would give a quarter of the spoils of war as a reward, and when all the people returned (and there was a need for battle again), he would give a third of the spoils of war as a reward.
