From the Book of Heart-Softeners
باب في قَوْلِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ لَعَنْتُهُ أَوْ سَبَبْتُهُ» :
Chapter: The Prophet said,“Whomever I curse or insult...”
Hadith Number: 2800
حدثنا المعلى بن اسد، حدثنا عبد الواحد بن زياد، حدثنا الاعمش، عن ابي صالح، عن ابي هريرة، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: "اللهم إنما انا بشر، فاي المسلمين لعنته، او شتمته او جلدته، فاجعلها له صلاة ورحمة وقربة تقربه بها إليك يوم القيامة".
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated: "O Allah! I am a human being, so for any Muslim whom I curse, or speak badly to, or strike, make it for him a means of prayer, mercy, and nearness (to You) by which he attains Your closeness on the Day of Resurrection."

Hadith Number: 2801
حدثنا محمد بن عبد الله بن نمير، عن ابيه، عن الاعمش، عن ابي سفيان، عن جابر، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم مثله، إلا ان فيه"زكاة ورحمة".
A narration similar to this is also reported from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him), but in it there is «زكاة و رحمة» , that is, "Make my cursing and praising for them a means of purification and mercy."
