From the Book of Wills
باب مَنِ اسْتَحَبَّ الْوَصِيَّةَ:
Chapter on those who preferred making a will
Hadith Number: 3208
حدثنا محمد بن عبيد، اخبرنا عبيد الله، عن نافع، عن ابن عمر: ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: "ماحق امرئ مسلم يبيت ليلتين وله شيء يوصي فيه، إلا ووصيته مكتوبة عنده".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is not permissible for any Muslim who has something to bequeath to spend two nights without having his will written with him."
تخریج الحدیث:
Hadith Number: 3209
حدثنا حدثنا عفان، حدثنا ابو الاشهب، حدثنا الحسن، قال: "المؤمن لا ياكل في كل بطنه، ولا تزال وصيته تحت جنبه".
Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) said: A believer does not eat to his fill, and his will is always kept at his side.
