The chapter on doubt in rak'ahs and prostration of forgetfulness
Hadith Number: 204
حدثنا احمد بن محمد بن الفرج الجنديسابوري ، حدثنا علي بن حرب الجنديسابوري ، حدثنا اشعث بن عطاف ، حدثنا سفيان الثوري ، عن ابي حصين ، عن إبراهيم ، عن علقمة ، عن عبد الله بن مسعود ، ان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال:"إذا شك احدكم في صلاته فليتحر وليسجد سجدتين وهو جالس"، لم يروه عن ابي حصين، إلا سفيان، ولا عن سفيان، إلا اشعث بن عطاف، ويحيى بن الضريس الرازيان
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When any of you has doubt in his prayer, he should try to incline towards certainty, and while sitting, he should perform two prostrations of forgetfulness (sujood as-sahw)."
