Description of the virtue of Jabir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them)
Hadith Number: 892
حدثنا محمد بن احمد بن الوضاح الكوفي ، قراءة على هناد بن السري ، حدثنا ابو كريب ، حدثنا معاوية بن هشام ، حدثنا شيبان ، عن جابر بن يزيد ، عن ابي الزبير ، عن جابر ، قال:"استغفر لي رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم خمسا وعشرين استغفارة كل ذلك اعدها بيدي، يقول: قضيت عن ابيك دينه؟، فاقول: نعم، فيقول: غفر الله لك"، لم يرو هذا اللفظ عن ابي الزبير، عن جابر، إلا جابر بن يزيد، تفرد به شيبان
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated for my forgiveness twenty-five times; each time I counted with my own hands. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Have you paid your father's debt?" I would reply: Yes. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would say: "May Allah forgive you."
