Burden of gold and silver, a grateful heart, a tongue that remembers Allah, and a righteous wife
Hadith Number: 1121
حدثنا محمد بن داود بن صدقة المصيصي ، حدثنا عبد الكبير بن معافى بن عمران ، حدثنا شريك ، عن محمد بن عبد الله المرادي، عن عمر بن مرة ، عن سالم بن ابي الجعد ، عن ثوبان ، قال:"ما نزلت والذين يكنزون الذهب والفضة سورة التوبة آية 34، قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم: تبا للذهب والفضة، قالوا: يا رسول الله، فاي المال نكنز؟، قال: قلبا شاكرا، ولسانا ذاكرا، وزوجة صالحة"، لم يروه عن محمد بن عبد الله المرادي، إلا شريك، تفرد به عبد الكبير بن المعافى
Sayyiduna Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) says: When this verse was revealed:“And those who hoard gold and silver”(: al-Tawbah: 34), the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Destruction is for gold and silver.”The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked: O Messenger of Allah! Then what wealth should we accumulate? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“(1) A grateful heart, (2) a tongue that remembers Allah, (3) and a righteous wife.”
