Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by Abdullah bin Rawahah (may Allah be pleased with him) while he was mentioning his companions, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:You are such people that Allah has commanded me to keep myself bound with you. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse:

﴿And keep yourself patiently with those who call on their Lord morning and evening, seeking His Face, and let not your eyes overlook them, desiring the pomp and glitter of the life of the world; and obey not him whose heart We have made heedless of Our remembrance, and who follows his own lusts, and whose affair (deeds) has been lost.﴾ (Al-Kahf: 28)

And keep yourself with those who call upon their Lord morning and evening, seeking His pleasure, and do not let your eyes pass beyond them, seeking the adornment of the worldly life, and do not obey the one whose heart We have made heedless of Our remembrance and whose affair has exceeded all bounds.

Be aware! However many of you sit together, that same number of angels also sit with you. If you glorify Allah, they also glorify Him. If you praise Allah, they also praise Him. If you proclaim His greatness, they also proclaim His greatness. Then they ascend to Allah, and He knows best about them, so they say: ‘O our Lord! Your servants have glorified You, so we also glorified You. They proclaimed Your greatness, so we also proclaimed Your greatness. They praised You, so we also praised You.’ So our Lord says: ‘O My angels! I make you witnesses that I have forgiven them.’ They say: ‘So-and-so and so-and-so are sinners.’ Allah says: ‘These are such people that even their companion is not wretched.’
