Book of the Sick
Reciting ruqyah by placing the hand on the afflicted part
Hadith Number: 1143
حدثنا طالب بن قرة الاذني ، حدثنا محمد بن عيسى الطباع ، حدثنا محمد بن سالم البصري ، عن ثابت البناني ، عن انس رضي الله عنه، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:"إذا اشتكى احدكم فليضع يده على ذلك الوجع، ثم ليقل: بسم الله، وبالله اعوذ بعزة الله وقدرته من شر وجعي هذا"، لم يروه عن ثابت، إلا محمد بن سالم البصري، تفرد به ابن الطباع
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any of you is ill, he should place his hand on the area of pain and say: «بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ وَبِاللّٰهِ أَعُوذُ بِعِزَّةِ اللّٰهِ وَقُدْرَتِهِ مِنْ شَرِّ وَجَعِي هٰذَا» "With the name of Allah and with Allah, I seek refuge in the honor and power of Allah Almighty from this pain which I am feeling."
