(مَسْأَلَةُ رَفْعِ اليَدَيْنِ عِنْدَ تَكْبِيرَةِ الإِحْرَامِ)
(Issue of raising the hands at the opening takbīrah)
Hadith Number: 802
802 - وعن وائل بن حجر - رضي الله عنه - انه ابصر النبي - صلى الله عليه وسلم - حين قام إلى الصلاة رفع يديه حتى كانتا بحيال منكبيه، وحاذى إبهاميه اذنيه، ثم كبر، رواه ابو داود، وفي رواية له: يرفع إبهاميه إلى شحمة اذنيه.
Wa il b. Hujr said he saw that when the Prophet stood up to pray he raised his hands till they were in front of his shoulders and placed his thumbs opposite his ears, then he said the takbir. Abu Dawud transmitted it, and in a version by him it says that he raised his thumbs to the lobes of his ears.
