The Book of Prayer
(إِيقَاظُ الْزَوْجَيْنِ بَعْضِهِمَا بَعْضًا لِلْقِيَامِ)
(Husband and wife waking each other for Qiyam al-Layl)
Hadith Number: 1230
1230 - وعن ابي هريرة رضي الله عنه، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:"رحم الله رجلا قام من الليل فصلى، وايقظ امراته فصلت، فإن ابت نضح في وجهها الماء. رحم الله امراة قامت من الليل فصلت وايقظت زوجها فصلى، فإن ابى نضحت في وجهه الماء". رواه ابو داود والنسائي.
Abu Huraira' reported God’s Messenger as saying,“God show mercy to a man who gets up during the night and prays, who wakens his wife and she prays, but if she refuses sprinkles the water on her face! God show mercy to a woman who gets up during the night and prays, who wakens her husband and he prays, but if he refuses sprinkles the water on his face!”Abu Dawud and Nasa’i transmitted it.
