(صُنْعُ اللَّحْدِ سُنَّةٌ)
(Building a grave pit (lahd) is Sunnah)
Hadith Number: 1701
وعن ابن عباس قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: «اللحد لنا والشق لغيرنا» رواه الترمذي وابو داود وابن ماجه
Ibn ‘Abbas reported God’s messenger as saying,“The niche in the side of the grave is for us and the excavation in the middle is for others.”Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud, Nasa’i and Ibn Majah transmitted it.
