كتاب الزكاة
The Book of Zakat
(إِنْ أُعْطِيَ شَيْئًا غَيْرَ مَطْلُوبٍ فَلْيَقْبَلْهُ)
(If someone is given something without asking, he should accept it)
Hadith Number: 1845
1845 - وعن عمر بن الخطاب، قال: كان النبي - صلى الله عليه وسلم - يعطيني العطاء، فاقول: اعطه افقر إليه مني، فقال:"خذه، فتموله وتصدق به، فما جاءك من هذا المال وانت غير مشرف ولا سائل فخذه وما لا فلا تتبعه نفسك". متفق عليه.
‘Umar b. al-Khattab said:The Prophet was giving me something and I asked him to give it to someone who had more need of it than I had, but he said,“Take it, keep it with your property and give it as sadaqa. Take what comes to you from this property when you are neither avaricious nor begging, but in other circumstances do not let your desire go after it.”(Bukhari and Muslim.)
