The Book of Zakat
(لَا تُرْجَعُ الْمُسْتَعْطِي خَالِيَ الْيَدَيْنِ)
(Do not send away the beggar empty-handed)
Hadith Number: 1942
1942 - وعن ام بجيد قالت: قال رسول - صلى الله عليه وسلم -:"ردوا السائل ولو بظلف محرق". رواه مالك والنسائي، وروى الترمذي وابو داود معناه.
Umm Bujaid reported God’s messenger as saying,“Send away the beggar [with something] , even with only a burnt hoof.”Malik and Nasa’i transmitted it, and Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud transmitted something to the same effect.
