The Book of Pilgrimage Rites
(دُعَاءُ الرَّحْمَةِ لِمَنْ يَحْلِقُ رَأْسَهُ)
(Supplication for mercy for those who shave their heads)
Hadith Number: 2648
2648 - وعن ابن عمر - رضي الله عنهما، ان رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - قال في حجة الوداع:"اللهم ارحم المحلقين . قالوا: والمقصرين يا رسول الله؟ قال:"اللهم ارحم المحلقين". قالوا: والمقصرين، يا رسول الله؟ قال: والمقصرين". متفق عليه.
Ibn ‘Umar told that at the Farewell Pilgrimage God's messenger said,“O God, have mercy on those who have themselves shaved.”The people suggested that he should add those who had clipped their hair. He again said the same words, and when they made the same suggestion, he added“and those who clip their hair.”Bukhari and Muslim.
