The Book of Hunting and Slaughtering
(تَرْبِيَةُ الْكَلْبِ تُنْقِصُ مِنَ الْأَجْرِ وَالثَّوَابِ)
(Keeping a dog reduces reward and merit)
Hadith Number: 4097
4097 - وعن جابر - رضي الله عنهما - قال: قال رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم:"ما من دابة في البحر إلا وقد ذكاها الله لبني آدم". رواه الدارقطني.
Jabir reported God’s messenger as saying,“There is no creature in the sea which God has not slaughtered for the sons of Adam.”* *A way of saying that fish are lawful food although they are not slaughtered. Daraqutni transmitted it.
