(إِرْسَالُ السَّلَامِ عَبْرَ وَسِيطٍ)
(Sending greetings through someone)
Hadith Number: 4655
4655 - وعن غالب - رحمه الله - قال: إنا لجلوس بباب الحسن البصري، إذ جاء رجل فقال: حدثني ابي، عن جدي، قال: بعثني ابي إلى رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - فقال:"ائته فاقرئه السلام". قال: فاتيته، فقلت: ابي يقرئك السلام. فقال:"عليك وعلى ابيك السلام". رواه ابو داود.
Ghalib narrates: We were sitting at the door of Hasan Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) when a man came and said: My father narrated from my grandfather, who said: My father sent me to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: Go to him and convey my greetings. He said: I reached the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: My father sends you greetings. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Peace be upon you and your father." Its chain is weak. Narrated by Abu Dawood.
