(الشَّرَفُ بِالثَّرْوَةِ وَالكَرَمُ بِالتَّقْوَى)
(Honor Lies in Wealth and Generosity in Piety)
Hadith Number: 4901
4901 - وعن الحسن، عن سمرة - رضي الله عنهما - قال: قال رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم:"الحسب: المال، والكرم: التقوى". رواه الترمذي، وابن ماجه.
Hasan Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "In this world, honor is through wealth, while with Allah (in the Hereafter), honor is through piety." Its chain is weak. Narrated by al-Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah.
