Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, reports that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The one who reciprocates kindness only in response to kindness is not truly upholding the ties of kinship; rather, the one who truly upholds the ties of kinship is the one who, when his ties are severed, still maintains them."
