The Book of Manners
(وُجُوبُ إِظْهَارِ النَّفْرَةِ مِنَ الشَّرِّ)
(The necessity of expressing hatred for evil)
Hadith Number: 5152
5152 - وعن جابر - رضي الله عنه - قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:"اوحى الله عز وجل إلى جبرئيل عليه السلام: ان اقلب مدينة كذا وكذا باهلها ، قال: يا رب! إن فيهم عبدك فلان: لم يعصك طرفة عين". قال:"فقال: اقلبها عليه وعليهم، فإن وجهه لم يتمعر في ساعة قط".
Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, revealed to Jibreel (peace be upon him) to overturn such-and-such city along with its inhabitants. He said: 'My Lord! Among them is Your such-and-such servant who has not disobeyed You even for the blink of an eye.' The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Allah, the Exalted, said: Overturn it upon him and upon them, for his face never changed for My sake even for a moment.'" Its chain is weak. Narrated by Al-Bayhaqi in Shu'ab al-Iman.
