(أَحْوَالُ مَا بَعْدَ زَمَنِ النُّبُوَّةِ)
(Conditions after the time of prophethood)
Hadith Number: 5378
الفصل الثالث 5378 - عن النعمان بن بشير، عن حذيفة - رضي الله عنه - قال: قال رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم:"تكون النبوة فيكم ما شاء الله ان تكون، ثم يرفعها الله تعالى ، ثم تكون خلافة على منهاج النبوة ما شاء الله ان تكون، ثم يرفعها الله تعالى، ثم تكون ملكا عاضا، فتكون ما شاء الله ان تكون، ثم يرفعها الله تعالى، ثم تكون ملكا جبرية، فيكون ما شاء الله ان تكون، ثم يرفعها الله تعالى، ثم تكون خلافة على منهاج نبوة"، ثم سكت، قال حبيب: فلما قام عمر بن عبد العزيز كتبت إليه بهذا الحديث اذكره إياه، وقلت: ارجو ان تكون امير المؤمنين بعد الملك العاض والجبرية، فسر به واعجبه، يعني عمر بن عبد العزيز. رواه احمد، والبيهقي في (دلائل النبوة).
Nu’man bin Bashir narrates from Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Prophethood will remain among you as long as Allah wills, then Allah will remove it when He wills. Then there will be a Caliphate on the pattern of Prophethood for as long as Allah wills, then Allah will remove it when He wills. Then there will be biting kingship for as long as Allah wills, then Allah will remove it when He wills. Then there will be coercive kingship for as long as Allah wills, then Allah will remove it when He wills. Then there will be a Caliphate on the pattern of Prophethood.”Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) fell silent. Habib narrates: When ‘Umar bin ‘Abd al-‘Aziz (may Allah have mercy on him) assumed the Caliphate, I wrote this hadith to remind him, and said: I hope that after the oppressive kingship and coercive kingship, you are the Commander of the Faithful. He was pleased with this and liked it. Its chain is authentic. Narrated by Ahmad and al-Bayhaqi in Dala’il al-Nubuwwah.
