The Book of Tribulations
(إِذَا أُسْنِدَتِ الحُكُومَةُ إِلَى غَيْرِ الأَكْفَاءِ فَانْتَظِرُوا القِيَامَةَ)
(When governance is entrusted to the unqualified, await the Day of Judgment)
Hadith Number: 5439
وعن ابي هريرة قال: بينما كان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يحدث إذ جاء اعرابي فقال: متى الساعة؟ قال: «إذا ضيعت الامانة فانتظر الساعة» . قال: كيف إضاعتها؟ قال: «إذا وسد الامر إلى غير اهله فانتظر الساعة» . رواه البخاري
Abu Huraira told that while the Prophet was talking a nomadic Arab came and asked when the last hour would come, to which he replied, "When the practice of honouring a trust is lost expect the last hour." He asked how it could be lost and he replied, "When rule is given to people who are unworthy of it, expect the last hour." Bukhari transmitted it.
